BIOXY STEAM is a liquid decontaminant, based on a peroxide compound developed by Mafra, suitable for use in GEYSER-type steel boiler steam systems. It is suitable for decontamination of all surfaces without incurring problems of oxidation, corrosion and deterioration of the most delicate and sensitive materials.
Field of application.
BIOXY STEAM is used in GEYSER-type steel boiler steam systems for sanitizing and decontaminating all surfaces consisting of metal alloys, plastics (polypropylene, polyvinyl, etc...), glass, rubbers and gaskets.
BIOXY STEAM consists of a basic mixture of an ad hoc compound of peroxides capable of releasing ACTIVE OXYGEN through steam delivery, plus other naturally derived excipients such as essential oils of Malaleuca alternifolia and Copaifera officinalis that enhance stability and decontamination action. BIOXY STEAM can be used to follow the Shared Protocol for the Regulation of Measures to Combat and Contain the Spread of Covid-19 Virus in Workplaces of March 14, 2020 - Section 4 CLEANING AND SANITIZATION IN BUSINESS - as, it complies with the provisions of the Ministry of Health Circular No. 5443 of February 22, 2020 - Cleaning of Sanitary and Non-Sanitary Environments - when used in the dilutions indicated.

Mechanism of action.
Inside the boiler, steam converts the peroxide compound to active oxygen. The biocidal action of active oxygen is mediated by the highly reactive free radical -OH: this oxidizes lipid membranes, DNA and other components essential to microorganisms, denaturing them.
Method of use and dilutions
Dilute BIOXY STEAM to obtain a solution to be injected inside the GEYSER boiler:
TO TREAT SANITARY ENVIRONMENTS dilute BIOXY STEAM to 5% (1:20).
TO TREAT NON-SANITARY ENVIRONMENTS dilute BIOXY STEAM to 2.5 percent (1:40).
- Operate through the GEYSER machine to treat the desired surfaces
- It is not necessary to rinse as the product leaves no residue
- Upon successful dilution, it is necessary to consume the product within the next 48 hours and never exceed 5 days in any case.
Precautions for use.
Handle BIOXY STEAM concentrate with care: avoid contact with the eyes and use suitable personal protective equipment (nitrile gloves and goggles).
Solutions diluted to 2.5 percent and 5 percent are non-hazardous and can be handled without special precautions.
